Conn Kavanaugh seeks a bright, ambitious associate to join its Corporate/Transactional Group in Boston. The group represents a broad array of closely held companies (and founders, executives, and investors) with headquarters in New England. The group’s work consists of about one-third mergers and acquisitions ($2.5MM to $50MM+), one-third formation and restructuring, and one-third general outside counsel/advisory work.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in law firm Corporate/Transactional practice
- MA license and New England roots.
- Strong communication, technology, and organizational skills
- Excellent client interface capabilities
- Skilled drafting, with attention to detail
- Commercial real estate acquisitions, leasing and financing experience helpful
- Experience in liquor licensing and hospitality helpful
- Enthusiasm for growing a book of business
The ideal candidate will have experience working with closely held and family businesses, from start-up to exit phase, and be comfortable working directly with business owners and management on governance, contract matters, strategic partnerships, recruitment and retention incentives for key executives and employees, private financings, and M&A transactions.
Work Environment: Hybrid, with three days (candidate’s choice) in the office, subject to demands of the practice.

Conn Kavanaugh seeks a seasoned Massachusetts-based attorney with 10 to 15 years of corporate law practice, to deepen and broaden the capabilities of the department.
The department represents a broad array of closely held companies (and founders, executives, and investors) with headquarters in New England. The department’s work consists of about one-third mergers and acquisitions ($2.5MM to $50MM+), one-third formation and restructuring, and one-third general outside counsel/advisory work.
Qualifications:
- 10-15 years of experience in law firm Corporate/Transactional practice
- MA license and New England roots.
- Experience with early-stage companies, private equity, and early round corporate finance is a plus.
- Experience with commercial real estate transactions, finance, and leasing also is a plus.
- Portable Book: $250,000+
Work Environment: Hybrid, with three days (candidate’s choice) in the office, subject to demands of the practice.
