Katherine A. Kelter is an associate in the firm’s litigation department. Since joining Conn Kavanaugh in 2014, she has honed her litigation skills across a broad range of business and commercial disputes, including matters related to employment law, insurance litigation, and product liability defense. More recently, her practice has focused on professional malpractice defense, construction law, property and zoning disputes, and probate litigation.
Katherine has appeared in both state and federal court in the Commonwealth, successfully arguing numerous motions and second chairing a three-week professional malpractice trial to verdict. She also has actively participated in the firm’s strong pro bono initiatives, including through the representation of such diverse clients as an agricultural entrepreneur in a contract and lease dispute and a survivor of domestic abuse in contentious child custody and support proceedings.
Prior to joining the firm, Katherine earned her Bachelor of Arts from Harvard College and her Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School. While in law school, she was a member of the "Suffolk University Law Review" and served on the journal's Front Office as Production Editor. She also served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Patti B. Saris of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
Katherine was selected as a Massachusetts “Rising Star” in 2017 and 2018 in the field of business litigation by New England Super Lawyers Magazine, an honor that is bestowed on the top up-and-coming attorneys in the Commonwealth. She also serves as a Senior Board Member for the Reid R. Sacco AYA Cancer Alliance, a non-profit charitable organization that supports scholarship and research oriented toward the development of the improved treatments and cures of adolescent and young adult cancers.
