Alexis P. Theriault

Alexis is an experienced litigator who builds relationships with her clients to help them succeed in complex matters.

Alexis is a home-grown Conn Kavanaugh lawyer having joined its litigation department in 2011 following her graduation from Suffolk University Law School. Her primary focus is on complex insurance coverage matters. She has represented and advised insurers in cases involving bad faith claims and high-exposure losses in state and federal courts. She also has extensive experience defending health care professionals in high-stakes personal injury litigation, representing businesses and owners in complex business litigation, and advising and litigating employment matters. She has represented clients in state and federal courts and before regulatory bodies.

Alexis works with her clients to achieve their goals. When litigation cannot be avoided, she uses the insight into trial judges that she learned while interning with the Honorable Timothy S. Hillman of the United States Court for the District of Massachusetts and with the Justices of the Massachusetts Superior Court sitting at Suffolk County.

Alexis is an active member of the Boston Bar Association and Boston Bar Foundation and has served on several of its substantive law and fundraising committees. She currently is member of the steering committee for the Business and Commercial Litigation Section. She was selected to be a member of the 14th class of the BBA’s Public Interest Leadership Program, a program designed to provide intensive leadership and professional development training.

Alexis is dedicated to health care access and brain tumor research. She provides pro bono services to Health Law Advocates, a public interest law firm whose mission is to provide pro bono legal representation to Massachusetts residents who are experiencing difficulty accessing or paying for needed medical services. She also has volunteered with the National Brain Tumor Society.

While not at work, Alexis enjoys listening to audiobooks about historical figures while walking her miniature poodle (appropriately named Barrister.)
