and Glen A. Tagliamonte

The Marshall Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project is a nationwide project that seeks to empower high school students to be responsible citizens and participants in the democratic process. Each year Suffolk law students (Marshall-Brennan Fellows) study and teach constitutional law to Boston-area high school students in urban minority population areas. The students also participate in a moot court competition. This year’s competition concerned the First and Fourteenth Amendment rights of a transgender student to dress in a manner that matched her gender identity and her access to school bathroom and locker room facilities. The winners of the regional competition advanced to compete at the national competition. This year’s national competition is being held in Washington D.C. at American University Washington College of Law.
